At Date Elementary, we encourage a love for reading through the Accelerated Reader (A.R.) program. This program motivates students to read independently, track their progress, and reach personal and school-wide reading goals. Students select books at their reading level, take quizzes to test comprehension, and earn points toward their individual and classroom goals.

Our school-wide mission is to read millions of words by the end of the year, and we celebrate student achievements along the way! Through A.R., students build confidence in their reading skills while developing a lifelong love for books. Together, we are making reading a fun and rewarding experience!

At Date Elementary, we use i-Ready Reading as a powerful tool to support students in their reading journey. i-Ready provides personalized lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs, helping them build essential reading skills at their own pace.

Through engaging and interactive activities, students strengthen their comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency while having fun. The program also gives teachers valuable insights to guide instruction and ensure every student continues to grow and succeed. With i-Ready, we empower students to become confident, capable readers ready for future success!
